Lots and Lots of Chicago Pictures

At the top of the Hancock Building.

Our rental car. This is what they consider a mid-size SUV. Huh??? Well, it drove nice anyway.
My mother-in-law's neighborhood.

At the pizza joint.
ditto.
The pizza joint!
The pizza!
This pic will only have a meaning to a very few people. But if you are one of those people...check out what I found. They really do exist. It was next door to the pizza place we went to.
The drive towards downtown. (sorry about the window reflections)

These next few pics are from the top of the Hancock building. The observation deck is on the 94th floor. (and we paid $15 a piece to go up)
This is Navy Pier
zoomed in on the Ferris wheel on Navy Pier
This is the city facing south. The magnificent mile should be under us heading south.
This is facing east towards the water but looking straight down.
This is looking North. Right below us is Lakeshore Drive. Where the rich peeps live.
This is looking west and kinda north. This is east. Love the shadows of the buildings on the water. This is the Hancock building from the ground.
Downtown Chicago
Love big cities.
Huge Christmas tree downtown.
American Girl store.
Any girls dream.Twins anyone?

3 plane rides later...

We made it home. We had to go to Las Vegas first, then to Phoenix and finally home to San Diego. Not all was bad though. We were able to upgrade our seats from Phoenix to SD to first class for a small fee. (seriously, not much at all) (and worth every penny) I will post pictures a little later. (we won not a penny at the slots in the Las Vegas airport...if you were wondering)

No Navy Pier this time...

We went to downtown Chicago today. It was fun. We started out by having lunch at Pequod's Pizza. It is a traditional Chicago style pizza. Yummy. Then we went to the Hancock building and paid $15 a piece to go up to the 94th floor to the observation deck. It was a gorgeous clear day. I took lots of pictures. Who knows how many came out though. We crossed Michigan Ave and went into the American Girl store. Too cool. We decided to leave after that and got back in the car. We drove all the way down the Magnificent Mile till it was no longer magnificent and turned around and came back up Lakeshore Drive (where the rich live). The lights were lit already on the trees downtown for Christmas so the drive out of the city was neat. Then I proceeded to fall asleep for the drive back to the house (about a 45 minute drive). Now it's dinner time...I'm starving! As the title states, we did not go to the Navy Pier even though it was on our list. Next time maybe!

Not Me! Monday...act 3

It's Monday again! To Play get the rules here. And also go here to check out other fabulous Not Me stories.

I was not excited to feel the freezing cold temperatures of Chicago. I, of course, think we only need one season all year long. And that is apparently summer! (I know that is weird for anyone who lives in a cold climate but I am sick of summer already.)

I did not convince hubs that I needed a brand new winter coat that we will be buying today even though I live in the "always summer" zone. Nope, Not me! (shopping, shopping, shopping)

I am not contemplating all the other things I might see and talk hubs into buying me also. No...just a coat is on my mind.

I have not held hubs laptop to me like a lifeline since getting here. I am not dependent on a computer...I.AM.NOT!

I am not excited to eat Turkey and stuffing in a couple of days. And we did not already break out the pecan pie. But if we did...yummmmm!

My eyes are not fuzzy right now. I can see the computer screen just fine. And, NO, I did not just crawl out of bed...barely. And if it weren't for the shopping, I would probably go back to bed.

Surely my mom is NOT giving Kassie 5000 treats a day while dogsitting for us. She says it is a grandma's right. Kassie agrees.

Oh, and I did not wake up to a light dusting of snow that I am told will be gone in a few hours.

Pixie's

On my sidebar you will see 2 weather Pixie's. One is for sunny San Diego which says it is 70 degrees right now and another for Chicago which says it is 28 degrees right now. Brrrr... I thought it would be fun to watch the differences this week.

Bye Pez...

Yay for me...

It's finally that time. Heading to the snow! (I excpect to see snow!!!) (sometime this next week, does not have to be today!) Chicago or Bust...

November 20, 2008

I expect to see snow in a couple of days, people! I will be very disappointed otherwise. One can hope anyways!!!

Not Me! Monday...act 2

It is amazing how boring the life of a housewife is. It is so hard to come up with clever and funny things to talk about. For truly funny stories check this out...and if you have not done it yet, give it a try!

I did not stage an all out war with the ants taking over my bathroom. If I did go to war you can bet your bottom dollar I won. I do not blame the warm weather for the ant problem. It is not supposed to be winter people. It is summer ALL year long here. Ants are gross!

I did not come to bed last night to find hubs fast asleep fully clothed, glasses askew on his face, on top of the covers with the lights blaringly on. When awakened, he did not mumble incoherently about Jaws coming to get him. Nope...didn't happen. (blaringly is not a word...I checked...and still used it anyway!!!)

I did not walk Kassie late at night this week and she did not do a little extra business and I did not leave it there for hubs to pick up in the morning. That would give away the fact that I left her leash (with bags) at home...NOT ME!!!

I did not lay awake at night this week thinking about what to pack for our trip to Chicago or how to pack everything in the suitcases. That certainly did not make me too tired to get up for Sunday School.

I did not go to the San Diego Wild Animal park Friday with my mom because that would be horribly boring. The weather was not perfect (damn ants) and I did not see any animals close up...at all. And I would never use my cell phone to take pictures because I have not one but two digital cameras. Of course I would remember to take one with me.

I am not excited about going to Chicago for Thanksgiving to see my M-I-L and niece and nephew (and bro & sis in law). So not excited that I did not buy the kiddos each a stuffed animal when I was not at the wild animal park. Nope, not me!

Extremely random pics from my cell phone...

I was getting my wild animal park pics off my phone when I came across these. It is random and I did not even know I had most of these on my phone.
Don't interrupt me while I am eating!

Not bad for a camera phone, eh?

The things people ask for...
uuuhhh...you had to be there, I guess. (they are candy kiss rosebuds)
Zoey, I miss her. She would have been a good doggy.
Awe...she's tired!!!
David and Eden's wedding shower.
The Oscar Meyer Wiener truck in the Walmart parking lot.
Told you these pics were random...but seriously, how cool to see a wiener truck at the store.

Please, no comments about the gutter. Let's keep it clean people. Otherwise...comment away!
