I tried to publish this post yesterday but Blogger was having nothing to do with me. Did anyone else have trouble with their dashboard yesterday?

 

This week the picture was provided by Branson...you know, the host. Just click on the cute lil button up there to go to her blog. She challenged us to add a quote this week in honor of July 4th. I received this email recently and loved it. It's origins are iffy. It is said that it was written by a 15 year old boy. There are a few different states this boy could have been from. Like I said...iffy!

What I did...
Cropped it to an 8x10 format,
widened it a little(therefore I had to fill in the extra area with blue sky),
I used the action The Daybook(I totally forgot where I got this but it was from one of you lovely ladies),
I added a Kim Klassen texture,

I love these types of meme's. It's just one more way to get to know each other. So, this is where I currently park it to blog. We are temporarily living with my mom. The desks and all the decorative stuff is hers. I just brought in my computer and other gizmos and gadgets. My desk is in storage with ALL the rest of my things. My mom uses a laptop in the living room at the couch. She usually crafts and sews from this desk but she put her machine away to make room for me. I prefer to sit at a desk vs at the couch. My sewing machine sits on the desk beside me but she now sews at the dining table whenever she has a project. Anyhoodles...it's cramped and almost always VERY messy. I did not clean it for the pic. You just caught me at an unusually clean moment. Notice, the words clean and clutter mean two very different things. Just sayin'!

So, I'm pretty sure I am supposed to use photos that I took...of myself. Well, I got one out of the two right. I took the photos but they are of my nephew. I wanted to give this gif idea a try. I had a perfect series of photos to use. I took these on Saturday evening for the scavenger hunt. Bradsen LOVED every minute of this process. A lot of my comments from the scavenger hunt mention the mess and the horrible clean up. It really wasn't so bad. I put him on a tarp, naked, with a towel around his waist. When I was done shooting him I let him play in the paint and rub it around then hubs carried him in to our shower. Really and truly not too bad. Everyone should do this with their kids at least once this summer. My friend told me if you put a few drops of soap in the paint it washes off easier. I did not do this step but washed him before the paint had time to dry.

Sunday I made one of the biggest and rookiest mistakes a photographer can make. We took my nephew(above) and his two older sisters out to the country to ride a train. I packed my camera but proceeded to leave my memory card at home in the computer. All my extra cards are in a camera bag I no longer use. Guess what I'm going to do here in a minute? Yes, I'm going to fish out those danged cards and put them in my epiphanie camera bag. Usually I load my pics onto the computer directly from the camera but lately my computer doesn't want to recognize the camera when I plug it in. Therefore, I have been taking the card out and putting that directly in the computer. Anyhoodles...such a rookie!

Project 365 ~ Week 25

1. A puppers foot print in the sand at the beach.

2, 4, 6 & 7. A different flower in our yard each day. We have a very flowery yard!

3. My niece spent the night last weekend. On Saturday we told her that she could pick what she wanted to do. The sky's the limit(within reason). She chose to go to Old Town. Hey, it's free so yay. So we walked around Old Town, bought candy, dipped candles, toured the Whaley house(no ghosts were harmed in the making of this blog post) and of course, took lots of pictures.

5. Mmmmmm...those tomatoes look just about ready to be popped into my mouth.

Favorite Photo of the Week

Update: Yes, all the dogs visiting the dog beach have human counterparts.
My favorite photo this week is of a random dog on the beach. This dog was meandering around totally carefree while carrying it's toy. It was a calm and happy puppers. My dog however, was incredibly anxious and nervous. She loves the beach but I might need to actually take her more often so she stays comfortable there.

I have baby fever...

I finally finished editing the pictures from my very first newborn shoot. These are a few of my favorites.

I think by now you know I like to be a little different. So this week I made the picture infrared! I used Photoshop cs5. I used an action that does infrared(I found a free version online a long time ago). Anyhoodles...simple does it this week!

This week I got to shoot my very first newborn baby. This sweet girl was born just barely over 4 LBS and at 13 days old was still very very small. It was a lot of fun though. This is only 1 of 3 pics I've edited so far. I guess I should get started on the other gazillion of them!
