Wow, what a week. Here I was looking forward to the long holiday weekend and it had to get completely messed up. On Wednesday hubs had a Dr's appointment after work. He said his transplanted kidney was sore so he had the docs look at it while he was there. Hours later they finally admitted him overnight. I was not diggin' that. He has a kidney stone in his transplanted kidney. They put a catheter in above the kidney to drain it of excess fluids. This all happened fairly early Thursday so we still hoped he could come home for some turkey and pumpkin pie. Nope! They kept him another night. Argh!!! In 2 weeks he will need to go back to have the kidney stone attended to. Yay(said with sarcasm)! Other than that stress, our Thanksgiving was nice. We went to my mom's house. Can I just say...tons of food! The pies were to die for!!! hehe (I made the pie)
I took the kiddo's to a park near our house on Wednesday.
Giddy-up!!
The next 3 pics are standard Rose fare!

Hehe...Rose was playing Rock Band on our wii. She was doing the microphone. She got lazy and just started spouting off random noises. My camera was close by so I had to record it. She's not in the video as she would have known I was taping. This is more of a sound video. You may need to turn up your volume.

"Teach me how to jerk"

We do not have cable tv in our house. In fact, the only tv we have is in our bedroom. We watch movies and also play the wii on it. Not having a tv causes one to be more creative in their evening activities. A certain teenager likes to dance around the living room. A certain Aunt likes to randomly film said teenager. Tehe!!!
Hubs was helping Rose make a powdered wig for a social studies project she has to dress up for. They made it out of paper. Here it is at the half way point. I had to get a picture because Rose insisted on putting it on then took a huge chug of milk. She is notorious for not wiping her mouth when she eats or drinks. She had a matching white mustache. Too funny!
I told her about the 'stache and she immediately wiped it and wanted another picture taken. So I obliged.
Rose: Hmmm...this will end up on the blog, won't it?
Me: Yup!!!
Disclaimer: everything that ends up on my camera...IS BLOG FODDER!!!

A Very Full Weekend

Okey dokey~I'm back!
We had our friends' kids all weekend for the last 2 weekends. This weekend we also invited another friend to spend the first night also. It was a very full house. I took zero, zip, zilch, nada, not one picture last weekend. Bradsen was pretty sick and the girls were not in top form either. The whole weekend was consumed with getting the kiddos well. (Their mom was out of town and dad worked crazy hours then ended up crazy sick himself) Anyhoodle, this weekend went much better. All these pics are from this weekend.
I started out Friday evening by giving all the kids a velvet lined picture to color. They got to choose how and when to spend time on it. Bradsen, Kathleen and Hannah got started immediately.
So did Rose and Allyson. Whatevs!
Rose's finish picture.
Kathleen's finished picture.
Bradsen's finished picture. (We helped him along but he insisted on an all red dragon. Imagine how mad he was when Chuck put green on the dragons wings when Bradsen wasn't looking)
Allyson's finished picture.
We woke up early on Saturday...ahem...8:00ish...and went to one of our local malls. We had to take 2 vehicles as my new used Xterra only holds 5 and we had 7 peeps. I took all the chicks in my car and Chuck drove the dudes. The radio was kind of low as Allyson and I were talking when I noticed the 3 girls in the back singing in unison. I cranked up the radio and sure enough they were singing along to the radio. I had to get this on film. Lucky me, I travel quite often with camera in tow. Allyson did me the honors of filming it for me. They caught on quickly that they were being filmed and started hamming it up.

This pic did not turn out as I had hoped it would. It was a wall of orange jewelry. I just wanted to say...
GO VOLS!!!
These little purses were so cute. You see Allyson's hand to show a size comparison. I'm sorry but my lipstick does not need it's own purse!
Allyson is in love...
Thankfully, everywhere we seemed to go in the mall there was a toy store near-by. So, hubs would take Bradsen over to distract him from the monotony of eye shadows and lip glosses.
As if the morning jaunt to the mall was not enough to fill our day...Bradsen had his very last soccer game for this season. We rushed home from the mall, I fed the kids some lunch, Hannah packed up her things and we headed down to Santee for the game.

At this point in the season there were only 4 boys left on his team. They finished the season with a big bang by winning(at this age there is no real winning and losing...apparently).

"Roar!!!"

"What now Aunt Pam? Sheesh!"
Is it winter anywhere else? Sucks for you!
"Oranges? I liked the watermelon better."

After the game the coach had a simple ceremony with cupcakes then they got a medal.
Yumm...
Handsome little thing!
And polite too!
Getting his medal.
With his coach.

The team. (Bradsen's mommy and daddy made the team banner)
Allyson purchased a pink semi-permanent hair dye. Supposedly washes out in a month. Her parents said no to her using it. Chuck volunteered to let her put some in his hair. She wanted to do a few spikes in front. Chuck actually didn't care what she did. He ok'd her doing his whole head. She stuck to just the spikes.

But I stepped in and put my mark on him! Needless to say, it washed out in his shower. Boo!!!
Bradsen made 2 goals himself. At the very end of this video shows one of them. he is number 5.
Here, they are on defense. Their coach said to be a brick wall to stop the ball. They stood there chanting brick wall, brick wall. Listen closely at the beginning and you can here it. So funny.

That's all folks!

Better late than never, I s'pose

Well, Halloween was fun this year. I have not gone trick or treating in a very long time. I usually stay home and pass out the candy. But when you live in the country you do not get any trick or tr eaters. We had a full weekend starting Friday at our house. I picked up my nieces in the morning from their house and brought them back to mine. We hung out till Rose got finished with school. Eventually, my mom and hubs and our friends Bobbie and Brad and sweet Bradsen joined us at the house. I made a yummy chicken tetrizzini for dinner. The 3 kids spent the night so Bobbie could have a break on Saturday. It was a full house! Kinda noisy too, but I love it.
The kids found my stash of clothes for Kassie and started dressing up poor Kodiak. I think he might be scarred for life after wearing that tutu.tehe...
My mom and Allyson gluing glitter on Rose's Halloween shirt.
Uh oh...BUSTED!!!
That glitter should be on the shirt not on your faces!
My yummy chicken tetrizzini.
Sweet Allyson!
Oooohhhhh...you're in trouble!!!! I'm telling Rose!
They gave Kristen Stewart a unibrow. On Saturday afternoon we piled into our Xterra and went to the Whitefield house. We had homemade pizza for dinner...yummm!!!
Kodiak was Superdog and Kassie was a ladybug.
"Don't make me look at you with my laser eyes!"
"Get me outta here mama!"
The kids ready to trick or treat. Allyson had already taken off for a party and I did not get a pic of her costume. It was cute though.
Kathleen was a cheerleader from high school musical. The letters on her top lit up.
Her lovely glamour make-up.
Bradsen was Bumblebee...from Transformers.
Brad is super artistic so we volunteered him to do Rose's make-up. I thought he did a fantastic job. I used hairspray to glue on the glitter on her chest, neck and hair. Her idea but then she peeled it all off because it "itched". Glamour does not come cheap...sometimes you have to take one for the team.
She is supposed to be Tinkerbell. A half good/half bad one. The tutu skirt was so cute. I just got a green top from the thrift store and added the glitter. Grandma found her some wings for .99 cents...and she forgot them at home. These wings were Bradsen's.
The glitter in her hair.
I just wanted to color my hair so we sprayed in 2 cans of the Halloween hair color spray. That was fun to wash out.
The neighborhood we went to was awesome. Everyone decorated their yards over-the-top. Then they set up in their driveways to hand out candy. Most of them made a party out of it with their families. They were prepared for a cold night as almost all of them had firepits going. But, it was actually a very warm night. No jackets needed! There were thousands of people trick or treating in this neighborhood. It was crazy...but fun.

This was a wall in someone's garage. Crazy!
One of the houses had a huge projector and screen set up and was showing Thriller. That was a big mob scene as everyone was stopping there to see it. Here are the girls watching it intently.
The mob scene!
Brad and Bradsen also watching Thriller.

My favorite yard. Here's what the tombstones said:
The pizza box...
Dracula...
The invisible man -we think...
Common sense...
I fell into a burning ring of fire...
Worst day ever...
Charger playoff hopes...
Vacancy ?...
I told you I was sick...

Anyhoodles...that was our Halloween!

Next up...Christmas (with a slight detour to Thanksgiving)
