I was going to represent texture by adding texture to a photo but then I came across this piece of wood. It did all the work for me.

Nothing beats a Big Gulp at the beach while watching a sunset! Yup, that's what hubs and I did Saturday evening.

Seventies

The only thing that came to mind for seventies is our weather. Cause that's what we have right now...70 degree weather. I took a picture of our thermometer and super-imposed it onto a picture I took at the beach Saturday. My puppers, Kassie, has been to the beach 3 times this past week. Lucky mutt!

Project 365 ~ Week 4

Okay...you caught me. A few of the pics are from the same day. I just had to share my nieces beautiful face{which is why she's in 3 of the pics this week}! Last week I got a bunch of comments about how my pictures look like Spring. Well, it's been in the upper 70's here. Luckily, we have local mountains that do get snow. Last Sunday we drove to Palm Springs{about a 2 hour drive} and rode the tram up the mountain where there was plenty of snow. It was a gorgeous day. Best of all...we got to take my sweet niece with us for some 2 on 1 time with her. She soaked it up! To round out the week we had In-N-Out for lunch. Yum! And the Farmers blimp was flying around town. I think they were taking a test run to get ready for the PGA tour which is going on right now. Can anyone say Tiger Woods? Eek! He's here and I'm sick of seeing him in our local news.

I was lucky enough to get my 10 year old niece for the weekend. This was at the park. She is such a sweet little thing! I adore her!

5 Question Friday

1. Where did you meet your spouse and did you instantly know it was love?

I met Chuck at Shadow Mountain Community Church. I was involved with a singles program for young adults and he had just started to come. The first day we ever "met" was a day the group went to the mountains for a hike. We were so off each others radar that we never learned each others name. Thank goodness that we became friends soon after. We knew soon after we started dating that we were the ones but not before then. No love at first sight here.

2. What is your favorite room in your house?

Right now??? My bedroom. It's my escape! We live with mom right now and finding a private moment is tough.

3. Can you wiggle your ears?

Ummm...NO!

4. What is your evening ritual?

I don't have much of a ritual. I don't wear make-up so I don't have to go through a make-up removal process. I brush my teeth, pee, wash my hands then hop into bed.

5. How many hours of sleep do you need to function?

8+ if you want me to be pleasant. If you don't mind me grumpy then anything less than 8 is fine.

First Edit

For this edit I just fixed the levels, balance and contrast, saturation and finally I trimmed the picture.

Second Edit

For this edit I started out with the same changes as the first edit. Then I applied the action from Coffeeshop golden vintage. I used the mask to brush the action off of her face and body with the opacity at about 85%.

This was taken on Saturday morning at SDSU for a 5K race. Two of my friends ran in the race while I sat with their kiddo's. It was a lovely morning even if it was at a ridiculously early hour.

Project 365~ Week 2

Shoot and Edit ~ edited

Here is my before. This may not have been the best picture to use to get dramatic results. My edit is subtle but I think you will see a difference.

This edit was done following Ashley's recipe. I wanted to see how closely I could follow her steps. Obviously, I had to change a few things as I have a sky picture and she used a plant in hers. After doing this I tried again doing my usual techniques and came out with almost the same results. It was still nice to learn something new.
