Mcklinky...

Mckmama is having a contest/drawing for all who participate in spreading the word about her new Mcklinky system. So here I am...spreading the word
*
or her words...actually!
*
There’s a great new “linky” service available and I wanted to let you know about it. It’s called MckLinky – www.mcklinky.com. After realizing the need for a new, reliable linky capability, Brent Riggs and MckMama got together to create a free, easy to use linky service for all their blog friends.
MckLinky is a free link list feature that allows you to do include lists of other blog links like MckMama does on Not Me! Monday. You can use MckLinky any time you want your blog readers to leave a list of links on your blog. It’s simple, reliable, free...and loads of MckFun!
*
So add your name to my link list so we can get to know each other better. I promise to come see all the blogs that have been linked here and will leave you a comment to let you know I have been to your blog.

who...what...huh...ME???

This is a link to Mckmama!

There is no way we would run 4 fans in our bedroom just to try to get the temperature down for the next days heat wave. Air conditioners are over-rated anyway.
*
Did I mention that there are definitely not 2 more in our living room and one is coming for the bathroom window? Like it gets hot here or something!!!
*
I did not sleep most of today away! Hubs did not take care of dinner for me even though it is my job. He did not cheat by getting Applebees take out.
*
I did not try to register my niece in school only to find out the offices were already closed and will not open again till August 3rd.
*
Nope, I'm not late for anything...therefore, I did not arrive at the warehouse sized store, Costco, 5 minutes before they closed and rush through the store anyway. I have not figured out what I missed yet but I'm sure I missed something in my rush.
*
I did not(no really, I didn't) meet the Duggars while at Costco like some peeps I know who run into reality stars and chat like old friends. (substitute Costco for Sam's club)
*
I am soooo sorry to see 2 of my landlords foster dogs get adopted out this week. I just adore all the yapping they do. Does anyone in the San Diego area want a Bijon mix dog? She has at least 2 more foster dogs that I know of. (of course, she's always bringing more home)
*
I did not watch The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button this week and bawl my eyes out. I don't cry for movies...ever...sniff!
*
And lastly...I CANNOT think of anything else to say except...good night!

Welcome to my bedroom

Well, come on in! We have a king size bed...plenty of room for y'all. Go visit Kelly for more bedroom fun or to join the carnival. You know you want to show us where your head rests at night.
*
This is the best shot I could get of the whole room. I took it from the far corner where the treadmill sits (collecting dust). It is a large room which is why we partitioned off a portion for an office. That curtain is hiding our laundry room. I'm going to start from the other side of the room and work my way around the room as if you were walking through.
Our closet doors.
This is to the left.
To the right. That's my massage table.
Looking straight in.
Hubs side of the bed. I did not clean up his table cause I don't mess with his medical junk. He does dialysis every night. (that's my kitty at the bottom of the pic)
From the closet looking back. Our dressers and only tv in the house(no longer hooked up to cable).
Standing in doorway. I would love a new comforter but hubs doesn't want to spend the money.
My side of the bed. We have no air conditioning in this house so we rely on fans. Puppers guarding mama's bed.
The dusty treadmill and puppers bed.
I love love love this picture frame. I want it to go in the living room or something but not in this house as it is a rental (limiting my holes in the wall) and we are out of wall space. It has crushed me to have it in storage. I finally pulled it out and put it on the dressers.
What puppers does 95% of her day!
I thought a video would better capture just how big the room is.

While I am glad our walls are not all white they are all a creamy yellow. Kinda gets old after a while. I would love more color in this house. Our landlord is talking about maybe putting a window on the wall above our bed to bring in more light. I would LOVE that especially as we lose a lot of light due to the armoire we are floating a few feet in front of the window.

Thanks for stopping by...come again!

Updated:

My landlord had a handyman come by this morning to install a solar tube light in my laundry area which was super dark before. It's not dark anymore! I will probably be constantly looking for a light switch...haha!

The results of cutting into a ceiling. Well worth it I assure you!!!

I'm outta control...

No really! I can't stop myself. I continually come up with more ideas for Rose's bed. The latest is a cork board. I hear she's into hanging posters of her favorite celeb crushes and whatnot. So I cut sheets of cork board up, hot glued them together to make them double thick, then double sticky taped them to a support bar on the bed. I didn't like the cut look so I also glued on these cute flowers on the edges. Do they have support groups for these kinds of addictions? Oh well, you're here now...have a looky!
Can you see it?
No really, get in real close! How's that for ya?
Just in case that's not enough...I found these cork strips at Walmart and they fit under the top bar just perfect.

I found this cute jar at Michael's on sale. It had a pretty sticker on it but that did not match the room so I peeled it off and glued the ribbon and flower on instead. We are going to use it as a reward jar. She can earn reward beads for certain behaviors or chores that can be turned in for internet time or money. Hubs and I are working out our system right now.
I also found this on sale at Michael's. Rose can use it however she wants to.
I really hope Rose doesn't prefer Goth or something cause I'm not redoing her room. She will be girly if I have to sit on her and glue ruffles to her forehead...haha!

The lovely person who gave me this award is Brandi from My Three Bubs. She has a great blog, lots of fun pictures and the cutest kids. And if you look down her side bar there are pics of 2 very cute German Shepard pupperoos. I'm a sucker for the pups(love kitties too). So, thank you Brandi!

Welcome to my laundry room...

It's time to play at my house again. Need to do a load of laundry? Well, come on in! Go see Kelly to play or see the other bloggers playrooms, bonus rooms and laundry rooms.
*
I do not have a bonus room or a playroom so you all get to see my laundry room. This is what it looked like when we moved in. It is in a corner of our ridiculously large bedroom.
Our landlord gave us permission to install a ceiling mounted curtain. Thank goodness...cause who wants to look at a washer while they are trying to get some shut eye?
This is how it looks today. We put in the shelves too. This is so far the only room I did not "clean" for this tour. This is real life people. Please be polite and do not notice the cat box at the bottom. No it does not smell...it has an automatic sweeper to collect the yucky stuff.
As a bonus, this is also in our bedroom. It is as close to a bonus room we get. Oh, and Kassie says hi...and huh?...and what?...and go away mama I was asleep.
Thanks for visiting. It's been real!

Sweet puppers

I had the opportunity to hang out with my friends teen aged daughter yesterday. She took one of my pictures of Kassie and played around with it on photobucket and this is her masterpiece.

Welcome to my bathroom

I know you have been on pins and needles to see this room. Kelly is once again hosting us as we show off our bathrooms. Welcome to mine...no really...come on in...there's plenty of room for all of y'all in there.
*
Unfortunately, we only have 1 bathroom right now. This is the first time I have had 1 bathroom in my house since I was a child. Not so much fun! My bathroom is really small and it speaks for itself. Just know that I WANT ANOTHER BATHROOM!!! (or a half bath at least?)
*
Looking in from the hall. We don't actually need the curtain as the window is not see through. I just like it with a curtain.

The sink is awesome. It's taller then normal which is good cause I don't have to kill my back to wash my hands.
I found this rack at Target. Nothing else out there would fit. It gets junk off my counter. I hate putting my hair dryer away every day. Now I don't have to.
Does anyone else notice that the lights are not centered over the mirror? haha...I don't know why. It's a rental, that's why!!!
I cleaned out those cubbies for the pic but we actually use them for everyday storage. I would love to have them be decorated but storage in this house is at a premium. This whole unit is filled with hubs medicine for his kidney disease and dialysis. That basket is not just for looks either. It too holds more junk in it.
This is all you get to see of the shower.
These next 3 things are from our guest bathroom from our house in Knoxville. I decided to put them into use here instead of our master bath stuff we have. That stuff is packed waiting for a new master bathroom.

Does anyone think it's weird that I have such a small bathroom and yet it still took me 11 photos to show it to you? Sheesh!
