So, last night around 1 AM I noticed the post was up for the edit. I went over and grabbed the pic. I had just opened up Photoshop when my hubs declared a trip to the ER was necessary. It was a very long frustrating night. His surgical wound was draining excessively. All we did in the ER is play a waiting game. Anyhoodle, we finally left the hospital at 9 AM exhausted and starving(my last meal had been more than 12 hrs earlier). We came home, ate a quick breakfast and dropped into bed. I got about 5 hours of sleep. He had to get up and go back to the hospital for his routine dialysis. Lucky him! Needless to say, I edited this pic using my usual bag of tricks. There is no way I can come up with my exact step by step...I'm way too tired! I can get a doctors note if I need one. ;-)

Tutorial Tuesday-The Dragan Effect

Today I spent the majority of the day at the hospital. Hubs had surgery to put his dialysis catheter back into his belly. In 2 weeks he can go back to doing home dialysis. Hopefully, that will also mean he can get back to work soon. In honor of him I am using a photo of him from last year. I tried this technique on a few recent pics of my niece and nephew and I hated it. This one I like. So here it is...

Charlotte braved the snow...

Last Monday the kids were out of school for Presidents day and I got to have them for the day. I took them to our local mountains to play in the snow. Yes, San Diego gets snow up in the mountains. It's just rare. The kids loved it. I got to break in Charlotte...doesn't she take marvelous photo's? I came home, uploaded the photo's and had them edited within the next day or so. So, why did it take me a week to put up this post? I dunno! But here they are...

I got my Canon 7d for Valentines. Well, it was also a combo of saving Christmas money and birthday money too.

I've named her Charlotte. (Elizabeth Bennett's bff! Sorry guys, Katniss is a great name but I like to use tradition old fashioned names on my electronics. My phone is Lily and my ipod classic is Savannah. My laptop is Darcy though.)

Okay...yeah...moving on now!

I set this shot up and just as I went to shoot the sun peeked out from the clouds. grrr. I took the shot anyway! Processed with the Daybook action.

I think this might have been a test shot while I set my camera settings. I love it though. These kids were like "we have to actually touch each other?". So funny!
