Our Bedroom

I know, some of you have been waiting a looooooong time for these pics. Like 6 months. Well, we just finished painting and putting up crown molding. Now I am taking the time to share...
This is how you see the room as you walk in.
This corner has the bathroom door.
The bathroom door is the left hand door. The other door exits the room.
This corner has our closet door.
This is hubs side of the bed. He gets extra dresser space for all his dialysis supplies.

My side of the bed. You would think I would like having easy access to the bathroom. I would really rather be closer to the windows so I could control them. Hubs is ALWAYS cold and never lets me open them. Very frustrating! We argue about it all the time. lol
Our new window treatments. The house came with cheap blinds and ugly valances. I got the curtains instead(the blinds are still there we just keep them all the way up.). I also got the shears so that during the day when the curtains are open we can still have some privacy. Our windows face the street. I somehow managed to match the curtains to our preexisting bedspread perfectly. Total accident.
This painting was a special gift we received for our wedding. It was painted by Chuck's uncle Sam. We just managed to get it custom framed.
And that right there is the cleanest this bedroom will probably ever be. It gets vacuumed and dusted all the time. One of us cough*HUBS*cough is bad about never putting away his our stuff. Now I need to go clear out the bathroom of all the stuff I threw in there to take these pics. ;-)

Edit Me...

Edit Me

This summer we get to showcase our own pictures to edit. This pic was taken a while ago(my nephew is in GA for the summer) but I just edited the pic special for him at his request. He saw my pic I did with a flag on my face and wanted me to add a dragon to his face.
What I did:
I took the clean edit and opened it in CS5,
I found a pic of a dragon in google images and opened it in CS5,
I copy and pasted the dragon onto his face,
I dropped the opacity way down on the dragon so I could see his features to reposition the dragon where I wanted it,
then I added a layer mask and meticulously removed any part of the dragon pic that I did not want,
When I was done masking I brought the opacity back up to where I wanted it. I think I liked it at around 60%. Still bright enough while giving it the painted on effect. Any brighter and it looked like a superimposed photo on his face.
And that's that!
Here is the original and clean edit.

Magic...

I'm so sad I don't get to see my niece or nephew all summer. They are across the country with their mama. Of course, that's where they belong...but still! I miss them! My camera misses them. Yesterday I skyped with them. They mentioned my flag face picture. Half joking I asked if they wanted me to do that to them. They jumped at the chance. I was thinking something simple like the flag but their imagination stretches much farther than that. Bradsen immediately chimed in that he wanted a dragon on his face. That prompted Kathleen to ask for a peace sign. Being the good little aunty I went with it. The peace sign wasn't too bad. That dragon was a nightmare. I would do anything for my bud. I even asked them what pictures they wanted me to use. Bradsen, being a boy, was like...any! Kathleen said any head shot from this specific photo shoot we had done. Anyhoodles...here are my newest masterpieces!

Tutorial Tuesday - Paint Flag on a Face

I'm not the biggest fan of taking selfies. I don't like my extra chins! Today, Ashley inspired me to do it anyway. I liked the look of her selfie(I'm such a copycat). So, I straightened my curly hair, put some makeup on my eyes, grabbed a fan and proceeded to shoot away. Do you like my red walls? That's my office! I LOVE it!!!
