Not Me! Monday

Time for another episode of Not Me therapy. If you need therapy too go here for the rules. And then go read more funny Not Me's here.
*
There is no way I, of sound mind and body, would ever venture out to Target 2 days before Christmas just for the sake of boredom. If I did, I would never have fell victim to a new purse. Said purse was not, in fact, the reason I may or may not have actually gone in the first place.
*
I did not meet up with my oldest and bestest for an impromptu lunch and proceed to wile away the next 3 1/2 hours of my life yakking or chatting or giggling or laughing or... If I did, there is no way that at one point she started laughing uncontrollably at me because there is NO WAY I would ever use the word 'anyhoodle'. What a ridiculous word. I, in turn, did not start laughing uncontrollably with her... for like 10 minutes!

Keeping it short this week...Happy New Year!!!

Our Weekend

We took Kassie up to the mountains to see the snow. Traffic was real fun!!! There are overlooks in Mt. Laguna where you can see the desert on the other side. It was a beautiful clear day. Click on any of the pictures to see a bigger version.
You can see the Salton Sea. Looks so close but yet so far away.
Funny to see the snow with the desert in the background.
At one of the lookouts. It was so cold! (fyi~this is the lookout we came to on our first date. The date was kinda short and we did not want it to end yet so we drove out here and talked for 3 hours. I swear that's all that happened as Chuck did not get around to actually asking me out or kissing me till 3 weeks later.)
These next few pics show the fire damage the mountains suffered in 2003 and again in 2005. So sad!

Playing in the snow.
We were throwing treats out and she would run and find them. She loves any game that involves food.

Hi!

Christmas...
my dad and stepmom
hehe
my mom and grandma
my brother and his wife and a friend

Do you see a theme? My mom made us wear these antler headbands and the scary part is everyone did. So funny!!!!

The Saviour is born...

Santa dropped by our house a little early...you know, to try and ease his work load for tonight. He was very generous! On top of my new used SUV, I also got this wireless headset. So I can listen to my ipod without having that annoying cord dangling.

Speaking of ipods...Santa brought Chuck an ipod touch this Christmas. Here is a pic with the new one next to my old one. Mine was a birthday gift 2 years ago. Chuck has not stopped playing with it since he opened it. I am so glad he likes it. He waited long enough to get it.

Someone knows me really well. This Hershey's kiss was in my stocking. (yes, we do stockings. It is the best part of Xmas.)

To get a perspective on the size of kiss it is I set it next to my computer mouse.

I found this coffee table book and thought of Chuck immediately. He likes Ansel Adams a lot.
Pez wanted in on the action! My grandmother has collected the Xmas village for years. Now that she is in a home we have the collection. We set some of the bigger buildings up under the tree. We hope she likes it when she is here tomorrow.
The dog and 3 cats were NOT left out this Xmas either. They got treats galore and some toys and a laser pointer and a toenail filer.
There were many many more gifts as well. We are so blessed. We want to wish everyone a wonderful, safe, happy, blessed, Merry Christmas!

Someone has a fantastic sense of humour. These were in our stockings. Tehe...my mom had one too. (Not pictured!) It was well worth the laugh we had! I may or may not have peed my pants laughing.
Okay, so I warned you! This is my blog and I put what I want on here...you all love me anyway!!!

Not Me! Monday

Time for another episode of Not Me therapy. If you need therapy too go here for the rules. And then go read more funny Not Me's here.
*
If I shopped at Walmart, which I don't, I would never overload my basket with so much junk that I had to perch a 28 pound container of cat sand on the bar below the handle bar. (you know, the one where your kid usually stands on and hangs onto the handle...yeah, that bar!) I AM smarter then this. I did not go all through the store like this and get checked out before someone jostled me causing the cat sand to NOT fall on my big toe. It didn't hurt...Nope!
*
I did not make a double batch of chocolate chip cookies. Then, I did not proceed to make a double batch of the chocolate/peanut butter/oatmeal No Bake cookies just because I wanted to eat them. I most certainly did not eat any of them. I'm not a piglet!
*
My mother would never have dropped a whole platter of my cookies on the floor. If she did, she never would have picked them back up and put them back on the platter. She did not continue to eat them anyway. I would have told my brother about the tainted cookies before he ate a bunch of them. I would have!!! tehe...
*
I did not take any of the cookies (before they were dropped) to a game night. They were not a hit...at all. My friends daughter did not eat about 10 cookies before I asked her if she liked coconut. After her reply of NO, I of course would kindly tell her about the small amount of coconut in the cookies she was consuming. Or not! She did not notice the coconut a little later and yell out "eeewww...there's coconut in these cookies" after clearly loving them a few minutes earlier.
*
My loving husband would never kick me out of the house just so he could wrap my Christmas presents. Not the new used SUV though...we don't have enough wrapping paper for that...and I have been driving it for 2 weeks now.
*
I did not respond by taking the puppers to the beach during my time out from the house. Kassie did not know at all where we were headed even though she watched me pack the usual beach bag. She was not excited at all. I practically had to drag her to the car. When we arrived, she did not run herself ragged. If she spoke human she would not have been screaming woohoo or whoopee or yeeeaaahhhh or cowabunga dude. She did not come home and drop like a leaf on her bed not to be seen or heard from the rest of the day.
*
I did not watch my mom sharpen my brothers knives for him and realize that I have been procrastinating getting mine sharpened. I did not pack them up and take the whole lot of them to the mall for a good professional sharpening. While waiting I did not indulge in a pedicure or a Cinnabon or a new pair of pants. I most certainly did not go look at the puppies in the puppy store. I would never walk out of the store with a pout because I was not allowed to hold a puppy. There was no one in the store people! What harm could it do to love on a puppy? I am not still pouting a few days later! I WANT A SHIH TZU!!!!!!!! wahhhhh....
*
I did not receive yummy cookies in the mail this week from my mother-in-law (the high light of every Christmas). We have not been pigging out on them...because we did not get them, of course ;) and I did not go out and buy the ingredients to remake the cookies my mom dropped on the floor. Because, surely we do not need more cookies around here. I will not be making another double batch of the chocolate/peanut butter/oatmeal No Bake cookies tomorrow.
*
It is not almost Christmas...I am not so excited!
*
God is indeed good! We are blessed beyond measure.

Not Me! Monday

It is that time again. Join the fun and get the rules here. Then go here for more funny Not Me stories.
*
I most certainly have not spent way too much money on Christmas this year. None of it is for the hubs. He does not deserve the extra attention this year for all his hard work and letting me be a housewife. And it is certainly not to make up for last years lack of Christmas due to a shortage in the wallet. Having a job is wonderful...I'm sure...I wouldn't actually know...anymore!
*
I did not go see the Festival of Lights in Del Mar with my mom and Grandmother. My Grandma does not have Alzheimer's and continually asked me who I was all night long. I did not answer her at one point with George. I would never do that to my Grandma. I have not seen her since I was 10 as that is how she remembers me. She has no memory of my wedding. Because she was NOT there. le sigh!
*
It is not Sunday night! It is Monday somewhere in the world. Okay, I am doing my Not Me post a few hours early today. I am an over-achiever. I was so ready with a list of things this week that I could not wait. I am not stumped on what to write at all.
*
uummmmm...
*
I was not sad or nostalgic at all that I missed my old church's Christmas program yesterday (not tonight...that is). I do not miss Knoxville at all. I don't miss my home, or yard, or job, or singing in the choir, or cold weather, or my friends. On the plus side, I get to have Christmas at home with family for the first time in 5 years.
*
Okay, I am so stumped. I.GOT.NOTHING!
*
Thanks for stopping by...leave a shout out so I can come over to your blog and meet you.

my daddy

I love my new truck. Chuck got to drive it to Palm Springs and back but today was my turn. I was out and about doing errands when my brother calls to say my dad is at his house. So I go over there to see him. On a whim I offer to drive him back to the Mexican border at Tecate by way of Campo so he can also check his mail. He accepts and we were off. He called Victoria (my stepmom) to let her know when we would be there so she could come meet him. I would not drive my new car over the border plus the wait to recross is sometimes hours. When we got there she had a huge bag of homemade tortilla's for me. Awesome! The drive is really twisty and turny and the new truck handled it great. It is super easy though to pick up speed. Gotta watch that. Lots of CHP's out there. For those who do not know...the Mexican border is pretty close. Tijuana is about a 30 minute drive from my house. Tecate, where my dad lives is an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes from my house. And we had a good chat. Oh, and did I mention that Kassie came along for the ride? She was with me when I went to my brothers house. She liked it...don't let her tell you any different.

Not Me! Monday...act 5

Time for another episode of Not Me therapy. If you need therapy too go here for the rules. And then go read more funny Not Me's here.
*
We did not have a Christmas party to attend in Palm Springs this weekend.
*
We did not dump the cruddy Ford Focus in lieu of a brand new used Nissan Xterra.
Buying the new used Xterra did not take soooo long that we left the dealership an hour and fifteen minutes late...late for a very important date.
*
We were not so late that we still had to stop at a store that may or may not have been Kohl's to get hubs a pair of dress pants. He did not forget to pack his belt so we did not need to buy him one of those as well.
*
Hubs did not drive the new used Xterra 80-90 mph trying to make up time. I did not stress over our speed at all. I never made a comment in fact.
*
Our room was not the most perfect, beautiful room full of luxuries. It does not rival our honeymoon suite at all.

*
I did not start the water in the humongous bathtub and then climb into the shower with a huge rain shower head to wait for the tub to fill up. Why would I waste water like that. Once in the bath I did not watch a movie from the big flatscreen tv that was in the bathroom.

*

We did not notice the menu for room service and immediately place an order for breakfast. I did not climb out of bed 5 minutes before room service was supposed to arrive and start snapping pics with my cell phone of our fabulous room that we had already messed up completely. No...I would have taken pics right away while the bed was still made and before our suitcase was unpacked. *

There is absolutely no way I was thirsty enough to have opened a bottle of water from the mini bar. The hotel would never charge $5 for a bottle of water!!! (look above at the bed pic...that is NOT a $5 bottle of water) *

We did not stop at storage on the way home to find our Christmas decorations. We did not forget the tree stand and have to go back on our way out to get the tree. Chuck did not break a glass table top by standing on it while climbing up and over stuff to get to the tree stand which was at the very back and all the way on top of the pile. *

We did not finally put up our fabulous Christmas tree!

*

That ends this episode of Not Me! Monday. Feel free to join the fun...it's liberating! I am so excited to see so many of my friends playing along too. I love your stories!
