Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Well well well. The stars have aligned. I got my ducks in a row. I'm actually here to participate in one of my favorite meme's. I'm still unpacking from our recent move. It sure eats up a lot of time. In fact, I'm sure it has been noticed that I have been very absent from my blog lately. I'm hoping to change that as I spend less time organizing the home and more time snapping pictures. Hubs told me I can buy a Canon 7d as soon as I can raise the monies. Christmas is coming!!! I'm also going to have a yard sell from all my purging of unneeded household items. Hopefully soon I will succeed in finding the funds. I so need to upgrade from my starter camera(Rebel xsi). Anyhoodles...on to my photo's!

This week's photo was provided by Wendy Wright. She blogs at Choosing Love, Arizona Moms Network and Sunflowers Photography. This week the field has been opened up to fun interpretations. Here's mine...

Our tiny BIG Life

This week's photo is from Kristi at Live and Love Out Loud. This is a photo she took of her beautiful daughter.

What I did:
I opened it in ACR,
Corrected the white balance and slightly tweaked the lighting,
Opened it in CS5,
Masked on some curves onto her hair to bring them out,
Used the Healing brush on her forehead, chin and under her nose,
Ran Coffeeshop's action Baby Powder Room,
Used the smooth skin at low opacity,
Also used the skin glow at a very low opacity,
Flatten,
I used the quick selection tool to grab the brick walls,
Then I changed the coloring of the wall to a cooler tone vs a warmer tone(I felt like the wall was competing against her skin tone),
Lastly, I ran Pioneer Woman's action Lovely and Ethereal at a very low opacity.
Flatten,
Done!

Fiesta Island

Today hubs and I met our friend and her kids and all our dogs down at Fiesta Island. The great thing about Fiesta Island is that it is 100% off leash! Fun times!

Kassie basking in the sun. She loves the coast...or any body of water.
Kodiak had his own bit of fun. Yikes, I'm glad I don't have to bath him.
And a one and a two and weeeeee...
Denali wasn't having anything to do with the water. He knows he's too pretty to get wet. He had fun running around though.

Cable, internet and phone...oh my!

Cox cable is at our new house as I'm writing this installing our cable, internet and phones. Woohoo! I missed my easy access to the internet and all my shows that started their seasons during my blackout. I didn't miss the phone though because I had it forwarded to my cell.

Anyhoodles...

This past week has been one of the worst and stressful weeks of my life. I'm not even kidding. It was a bad week. Glad it's over!

My kitties were brought back to us a couple of days ago. I missed them. Aria has been in my lap so much. I think she missed her mama. Thanks to our great friends Karen and Josh for keeping them for the month.

My camera has not been used once since we left my aunt and uncles to move back into our own house. (Remember the stress.) No 365 photos for this week. I couldn't even bring myself to care. The question is...do I skip the week and keep going or simply just quit? I haven't found the 365 project to be as fun as I thought it would be. It feels more like a burden. I like taking pictures of events or happenings and then posting them all at once. One a day is hard!

I took these pictures of this spider on one of the last days I was at my aunts house. I haven't had a chance to share it yet. It's spider season here in So Cal!!!
