Hello all!
My mom is buying new furniture but the color of the new stuff really clashes with an accent wall. So she is repainting the one wall. She had C and I pick the paint up tonight and we had to take the opportunity to play a joke on her. Normally, the person will mix the paint then put a dab on the lid. We talked him into putting the wrong color dab on the lid. He picked the best ugly baby poo brown he had. My mom actually believed we got it wrong at first. My snickering kinda gave it away after a while though. This is Pez...hanging out!

I'm starting to get worried...
My best friend from childhood is getting married this coming May and she has asked me to be in her wedding. The dress is strapless. I have spent this entire summer wearing sleeveless shirts. I do not sunbathe!!! But I walk Kassie a couple times during the day, we go to the dog park a few times a week, and we have gone to the beach once or twice a week all summer. I use a 50 SPF sunscreen. So what's the problem? I still have the worst farmers tan ever on my shoulders. The Portuguese in me tans very dark very easily. It gets darker every day. How will I ever even back out by May? The covered areas of my body are Knoxville white and my arms, face, lower legs and feet are California tanned. *sigh*
On another note, I mentioned previously about buying a house or renting one for a year first. It has been a long drawn out decision for us. Ultimately, we have decided to stay at my mom's house. She suggested it...and when you think about what we will pay in rent and having no utility type bills we can save so much in just one year. One thing we wanted was some of our stuff from storage. My mom has agreed to let us pull out our kitchen stuff and box hers up for now. That will help us a lot. tehe...ok, we are snobs about our stuff.
OK, call me crazy but, I took Kassie to the beach...again! It cooled down quite a bit but yesterday and today it warmed back up. I had to take advantage of our fall heat wave. All my friends in Knoxville have been posting about Fall and the leaves and pumpkins and so on. Not a Fall type item in sight here. It does not even feel like late September here. Well, it does cool down at night. I miss seeing the leaves change color and pumpkin pies. I almost look forward to pulling out my electric blanket. And I'm missing the choir xmas music starting in September. I used to listen to xmas music non-stop from Sept. to Dec. for the choir program. Not this year! :(
I am making a commitment to get on the treadmill everyday to get in shape for this bridesmaid dress and get my baby making factory ready. I knight thee (ya'll) my helpers to keep me on track. I won't post pictures...well, maybe every once in a while...you don't want to see my mug that often. Please feel free to leave encouragements every once in a while or to check in with me. OK, 4 paragraphs later...I'm done!

silliness makes you younger...
My friend Stephanie posted this website on her blog. It was so funny that I had to go do it myself. Here are a few of my favorites. My face did not fit on some of the heads no matter what I did to make it work. But then others, like these look natural. Obviously, I used a skinny picture of myself. It would look funny with chubby cheeks.

My Mom's Vacation
When my mom got home we uploaded over 1000 pics from her camera to my computer. From those I edited it down to 126 of my favorite pictures. I sure did not need 1000 pics of a vacation I did not take. From there I edited it down to 76 pictures for this slide show. I did a slide show so if anyone does not want to take the time to see them they don't have to. Although, there are some AMAZING pictures of the Southwest. Please enjoy! If you want longer to see a picture just hover your mouse over the picture and it will pause the slide show.

Yikes! I'm about to become a kid again...
Today I started a cleaning frenzy. My mom is coming home from her vacation tomorrow...I think. At least her calendar on the wall lists her vacation through tomorrow and then she lists Friday as OFF. I take that to mean she will be home Friday and off work. Thus my kiddyness returns. I can't have her thinking we are slobs even though we are not. Her standards are pretty high.
Poor Kassie has had to endure 2 baths this week. That's the price to be paid for all the frolicking and fun in the California sun. hehe...I rhyme! Yes!!! We went to the dog beach yet again. She had the most fun I have ever seen her have there. She never came out of the water. Boy, she sure let me know when she was too tired to keep on. If she is really lucky, I might run her over to the dog park Friday to meet her pal Kodiak.
I thought I would beat the heat (rhyming again) and shop last night really really late. Our Walmart is 24 hours (and not a Supercenter in fact we don't have any Supercenters here...I really miss my Walmart Supercenter!) but Von's closes at 1 AM. So, I left the house at 11:30. I went to Walmart first and rushed around as fast as I could get my cart through the maze of pallets and sections closed off for the midnight restocking and floor waxing. I got out of there at 12 AM exactly so I head over to Von's next door. Wouldn't you know...they closed at 10 PM for remodeling. Now I am pissed. This kinda defeats the purpose. No biggy, I head over to Albertsons...hoping...Nope! They close at 12 AM. Shoot!!! No milk or Diet Pepsi or bread...SHOOT! SHOOT! SHOOT!!! Guess who gets to go later? ME! What time will I leave my house...well before 10 PM.

My mom is on vacation and I have been using this time wisely to cause havic and mayhem around the house. It's great fun. No really!...ok maybe not but C and I are trying to decide if buying a house right now is really for the best. We have an offer out on a house and we are letting it be the deciding factor...sorta! We think if we rent for a year or so we might be able

Good Friends, Good Food!
Well, we are still not the proud owners of a new house. It is frustratingly hard. But we are not throwing in the towel yet. Surely something will come up soon. My computer was starting to die on us. It was doing all the same things it did the last time it died. So, we went to Fry's to look at new computers and we found an amazing Gateway at a really good price. It has such a large harddrive that I could never fill it up with pictures and music. It has the ability to hook up to cable tv and it has a blueray dvd player. And for my birthday I got a 22" HD flatscreen monitor. Not that I did not appreciate my old 15" flatscreen monitor. This is WAY better. I have never used vista before so it is a true learning experience. The way we intitially tried to transfer all my stuff from the old to the new computer almost caused us to loose everything. And I had not backed things up(Chuck did not give me time). I came very close to losing all my email contacts. In the end though we prevailed. I have all my pictures and all my email contacts and I have redownloaded anything else I use regularly. Monday we invited my friend Bobbie and her family over for a lunch bar b que. We had fun and the food was yummo. The main attraction for her 3 kids was our wii system. After becoming unbeatable in ALL the sports games they moved on to Rock band. They have guitar hero at home so they wanted to play the guitar. We only have 1 so someone had to play the drums. Before you knew it they loved the drums too. So, that was our week/weekend. Hope everyones was fabulous too.
