1. I mangled my finger in the shower on hubs razor. (I was closing the curtain and dropped my arm down and swiped my finger along his razor which was facing up in a mesh pocket thingy we have in the shower.) It bled tons!!! This happened on Easter Sunday...woohoo. The pic was taken on day 2.
2. *Umbrella shot. I had so many ideas for this but ran out of steam this week.
3. My niece and her team after her softball game. They won again. After all the games both teams circle the pitchers mound and do a song and dance. It's kinda cute. Kathleen is number 14.
4. I had no ideas this week so I copied my idea from last week with the cookie. This time I chose to use pretzels.
5. Seriously, this shows just how bad my creativity was this week. Yes, that's my mangled finger again...3 days later. Both finger shots were taken with my iphone as it was close by after my showers.
6. A delicious looking pear. This is a really bad shot but I do love the shadow. I'm using this shot because I just don't have any other shots to use.
7. Thankfully, when I'm having an off photography week I can just go out into the yard and shoot some flowers. This is my saving grace.

Here's to a better week next week!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Reflections
This week my mom is participating with me by offering up this first picture. It is a shot of Convict Lake near Bishop, CA. She took it while on vacation to Death Valley last week. This is a great example of the amazing work that can come from a point and shoot camera. The only editing I did on this picture is to run a high pass filter on it.
 Guess What This Is...

Playtime
This is another set of shots I took of my niece last weekend. I was going to feature it on my blog this past week but then thought it would work great for this prompt. So I saved it for today.
Lawn and Garden
Guess what this is...it's a chair.
What's inside...it's B.R. He's E.B.'s little brother.
(That's Bunny Rabbit and Easter Bunny. tehe)
Happy Easter!

He is risen!!!

Project 365 ~ Week 16

2011 Mommytography 365 Project

1. We saw this windmill featured on a TV show that tells little known facts about San Diego. It's about a mile from my house. I never knew it was there let alone that it had historic value.
2. Yummo and it looks like I need to visit the seashore!
3. I also need to go through my junk mail. I tend to just stack it on the desk to be dealt with later.
4. People fishing in one of our many reservoirs.
5. A white picket fence.
6. My kitteh Aria. Usually I show Lucy because she loves my camera. Seriously, she follows me around the house when I have it in my hands. Aria hides. I was lucky to get a few shots of her this week.
7. We went to a local garden for some pictures and they had a tree decorated with these eggs.

5 Question Friday

1. What is your favorite Easter tradition? Well, it would be the new dress. Right girls?

2. Are you a shower or a long, hot bath kind of person? Overall I prefer to shower. I do like a good soak from time to time but only if I have access to a huge jacuzzi tub. We had one in our Tennessee house. Sadly, we don't now.

3. Can you parallel park and if so when is the last time you did it? I can and I don't remember when. Not too long ago. A few months maybe. I try to avoid it. Just because I can doesn't mean I have to.

4. What is your favorite Easter candy? Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh...Russell Stover eggs. Yum. I like the chocolate brownie flavor and the marshmallow with caramel and the pecan delights. Yummo! The best place to get them is at Wallgreens.

5. Easter: do you go all out with the Easter Bunny or focus on the religious part of the holiday? We don't have kids so going all out with the Easter Bunny would look kinda funny. I did offer to let hubs get his picture with E.B. at the mall a few days ago. He declined. tehe! Some years I make us each an Easter basket. Not this year though. Mostly we just do church then dinner with family. When I was in choir the Easter service was huge so there were tons of practices leading up to it. We would get so pumped up. Sadly, no more choir for me. I miss my Tennessee church. Southern Baptists have the best worship services.

I spy...something fabulous!

One of my nephews favorite past times when he comes to my house is to have me set up my camera on a tripod, remote trigger in hand and take a gazillion quadrillion eleventy thousand funny faced pictures. I go with it cause it's fun and it doesn't cost me a penny. Of course, that does mean I have to go through them all. Most get trashed. They just aren't that great. I get some gems to keep and I keep a few that have a special meaning. What happens is that someone calls out an emotion or an action or just any ol' word and we have to interpret the word with our pose. That's the fun part. Seriously fun. Of course, I hate the camera being on me so I was super happy Kathleen was there to pose with her brother. The funny thing about these two pictures is that the first one is an interpretation of me and the second of hubs. Go figure what they were thinking.

Aunt Pam:
Bradsen must have been acting out the fact that I'm constantly sucking on a Diet Pepsi. Hmmmm! Thank goodness he didn't act out me eating a candy bar. Kathleen is showing you all how FABULOUS I am. No really...I am! (and maybe how loud I can be)
Uncle Chuck:
I just don't know...hehehe...This is really funny. The truth is that those two kids adore their Uncle Chuck. They were just having fun at his expense cause he wasn't around to defend himself. It also could be that I plied them with soft serve ice cream cones from Mickey D's a few minutes before our game started. Therefore, they love me more.
So out of 600 plus pictures I kept less than 10. I love digital!!!!!!!!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Time
And...it really was 3:00 when I shot this picture! I thought I would turn it into this hot mess rather than give you the boring original.
 Poetry
 Outside
Yup, we were outside alright. Me and all 13 of these kids!
Zoom!
You lookin' at me?
I figured I could take this two ways. I could zoom my camera in or I could take a cool car shot as it zoomed away. I went with the camera zoom.

Isolation
Yeah, nothing about this shot says isolation! But, since I'm the CEO of this joint anything I say goes. Aaaand...they were just begging to be picked! Get it? bwahahahaha...

2011 Mommytography 365 Project

 1. My nephew Bradsen ended up in the hospital after an Asthma attack. Thank goodness he's okay!
2. What's better than a field of flowers in the desert? Seriously!
3. *My attempt at triangle. These kids are up for anything.
4. A cool tree.
5. We were driving along when hubs yells "did you see the Peacocks on that guys fence?" Well actually, no honey, I missed it. screeeeeeech...we must go back and see it again! So I took pictures of some dudes pet Peacocks who like to sit on their property fence. I've heard of guard dogs but never guard Peacocks.
6. It orange season in California. They're EVERYWHERE!!!
7. *One of my 100 steps pics.

Here are my 100 step pictures. I too chose to drive somewhere for these. You don't want to see the street I live on. No really...you don't!
North
 South
 East
 West
 This was a different attempt I made for the triangle. I like the pic but didn't use it as it doesn't look much like a triangle. This is also my first attempt at cloning. I have a few more of these fun types of pics up my sleeve.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Motion
At Belmont Park...Mission Beach, CA.
 Waiting to Click
 In Fashion...Valley
I'm pretty sure most people will interpret this with clothing. I decided to go more literal. So I went to Fashion Valley for a shot at the mall.
 Animals Perspective
 Many
There were probably hundreds of thousands of berries on this tree. This was just one cluster.

Project 365 ~ Week 14

2011 Mommytography 365 Project

NapTime MomTog Project 365

1. The baby hummingbirds still in their nest. But they barely fit.
2. One day I saw a caterpillar making it's way along our patio. That afternoon we found it hanging from the railing to our front steps. I really hope I get to see it when it emerges as a butterfly.
3. I went back to the beach(yes, I go a couple times a week) and I found these two sand dollars. I haven't seen whole sand dollars in a very long time. I was shocked to have found two on the same day.
4. A gorgeous sky.
5. Hubs saying hello to his brand new truck. He finally got it on his birthday. We have tons of dealerships here as we live in a big city but we actually drove almost 100 miles away just for a good deal.
6. Lordy, my street has come alive with color.
7. The hummingbirds finally left their nest. They are now in a bush near our patio. Their momma still comes to feed them. I'm sure they will fly off forever very soon. It rained really hard last night and I was extremely worried for them. They are in the elements now where as when in their nest they were under our patio. I was soooo grateful to have found them today in the bush doing just fine!!!

For anyone who's counting...

...it's been 8 long years. The good news is we made it past the 7 year itch...intact!
It's been a while since I have looked at my wedding pictures. I've always known my pictures were slightly under par. But looking at the digital negatives was almost depressing. It's one of the biggest regrets I have from that day. If only I knew then what I know now about photography!

Edit Me by ashley plus 3

This weeks picture is by Jamie of From High Heels to Sneakers. It is so easy to join these edit meme's when the picture is gorgeous right out of the camera. I mean, look at those eyes! And that smile is melting my heart.
sooc by Jamie
 edit by meeeeeeee...
I decided to just do one edit this week. I wanted to keep it clean. Here's what I did:
I started by tweaking the levels, contrast and saturation;
I then ran Pioneer Woman's action Fresh and Colorful;
I tweaked the opacity layers to taste;
Then I ran Coffeeshop's action Glamour Glow to pop the eyes a little;
I flatten the image after every action I run as well;
I trimmed the picture using an 8 x 10 layout;
Done!

BONUS...
A blog friend, Heather at Oswald Cuties let me edit a picture of her youngest cutie. I used the same techniques as the above edit. I also used Coffeeshop's action Baby Powder Room to fix some of the red splotchies on Daisy's face. This was the very first time for me to use the action Baby Powder Room. I was impressed. Daisy is 2 years old so I am also going to link this to Monday Mugs. Is that cheating Heather?

Both pictures of the adorable kidlets were taken by their perspective mommies. I only lay claim on the edits! thankyouverymuch!
