gettin' to know me!

Getting to know YOU

1. If you accidentally knick a car in a parking lot..Do you leave a note or do you get the heck out of there? Depends on the knick. If it there is ANY damage then I would leave a note. Otherwise, I would probably just leave.
2. Love your body or plastic surgery? Definitely plastic surgery. Gotta get the girls put back into place and the tummy tucked.
3. What about your favorite blog(s) continues to drive you back? I like the blogs who get personal with their lives even if they choose not to share their names. I also like the ones who talk to you through comments and emails.
4. What percent of your blog is BS just to make your life seem more interesting than it really is? The biggest BS I give my blog is about my weight. I've never admitted online how much I am over weight. No current pics of me EVER go on my blog. Every once in a blue moon a head shot. If you looked closely you might be able to tell but otherwise I choose those shots carefully. If you see a skinny shot of me just know it's 8 or more years old. The good news is that I am successfully losing weight as we speak. Look for a reveal in the coming months. It will take a while so be patient.
5. If you had to give up one type of meat for the rest of your life, what would it be? This is easy...FISH!!! I will not eat fish!!! EVAH!!!!!
6. How often do you eat out? Now??? Never! Cause I'm not eating. I'm fasting. Before the diet...too often. A couple times a week.
7. Skinny jeans or boot cut jeans? Most likely boot cut. I've never had the body to pull off skinny jeans.

8. If you caught your spouse cheating would you forgive, divorce, or plan your kill? He knows it's a divorce the second I catch him. Yes, we've talked about it! He's just not rich enough to forgive. lol

5 Question Friday

1. How many pets do you have? 1 cat named Aria. She's a total princess who prefers her mama's lap over anywhere else. 1 dog named...KASSIE!!! She's also a princess who is skerd of her own shadow. She loves the beach! 1 husband named Chuck. His wife is a princess too...(do we see a theme here?)

2. If you could switch places with anyone in the world for one day, who would it be? I would switch with Jesus. I think his presence here on Earth could be used in a big way, even for 1 day. I would be at the feet of God and loving every minute of it.

3. What is your favorite money saving tip? My tip is to have a very well planned out budget. It is important to stick to the budget in order to succeed in saving money.

4. What do you want your kids to be when they grow up? Well, I want Aria to shave all her hair, pierce her ears and nose and eye brows, get a full body tattoo then join the circus as a side show act as the bald, pierced, tattooed cat. I want Kassie to grow a pair...(of balls, that is). She can then hit the freak show circuit with her sister as her bodyguard. Fat chance I suppose!

5. W
hat is your favorite quote? I dislike these kinds of questions. I'm not a quoting kind of person. How about Mr. Darcy, I love you mwah mwah mwah...wait...that's not a quote! Never mind then!

Well, I finally finished sewing the skirts for my niece. I have had this project on the back burner for months. Such a slacker! This first skirt is the same material I used to make Rose and I matching aprons. My friend picked the same material for her daughters skirt unknowingly. Great minds think alike yada yada yada! Since I had the kids for an overnight sleep-over I let Kathleen model her skirts for you all. Cause I'm cool like that!
You can't see it but the waist is fitted. A little more technical than just being elastic all the way around.
The skirts are also very full. She loved twirling in them.

What was the little man up to during our modeling shoot? Have a looky...

nom nom nom...yummy Aunt Pam! (Aunt Pam's rock!!!...just sayin')

defeating boredom on a very hot day...

What do you do with 2 kids when it is too hot to send them outside to play?

They play the wii...

You stuff their faces with food...
You print out activity pages from the internet...
They dance around the living room to some awesome music...

You take them to the beach to watch the sunset...

I love the beach silhouette pictures!

The sunset pictures are in order of how I took them so it is a true progression of a sunset in So Cal.

Yes, after that amazing sunset this is what we saw driving home!!!

5 Question Friday

1. Do you have any nicknames and if so how did it come about? My name is Pamela, I go by Pam(my only official nickname), my mom likes to call me Whammy Pammy(who knows why...it was not a childhood thing.), as a child and teen there were a few jerks who tried the spam thing. You know, the usual childish teasing. Hubs call me Honey...hmmm, so does my bff lol.

2. What is your birth order amongst your siblings? I am the youngest of 3. My sister is 18 months older and my brother is 4 years older than me. I get to be the spoiled rotten one...(I wish!!!)

3. In a movie of your life, who would play your significant other? I think my hubby is cute but he is a bit on the nerdy side. So do I go with an actor who resembles my husband in looks or do I go with the hotty of my dreams? For resemblance I choose Neil Patrick Harris(not gay of course)(and whom I think is hot anyways). For steamy hottness I would choose Edward!!!! He's mine Kimber back off!!!!!

4. What is currently your favorite song? I'm kinda diggin Glitter in the Air by Pink.

5. Are you saving your money for anything right now? Big or small purchase? Well, when I hit a specific milestone in my weight loss I get a flash for my camera. After I hit my goal(which will only take me forever) I get a new wedding band with diamonds that go all the way around. My current one the diamonds only go half way and I'm tired of it sliding around so the diamonds are always on the under side. grrr!!! So, yes, we have to save for these things.

Video proof of the skinny new guy

Check out what I found. This is part of the video I took on the day Chuck and I met. At the 49 second mark you can hear me say "come on guy" because I was impatient for him to jump. Notice the icky green water. This video didn't even do justice to the actual color. I was horrified that people were swimming in it. I am in the process of taking all my old VHS videos and uploading them onto the computer. We had to get a video capture device from Fry's. Then we just hooked the vcr to the devise and let the recording begin. Odd how terrible the quality was then. Now everything is so much better. I thought I was hot stuff though for having a video camera. Now I just use my cell phone or point and shoot camera for videos. Gotta love the constant change in technology.

Chucks take...

Some of you asked for Chuck's take on the day we met so here it is...

I was so off his radar that he barely remembers the day. He remembers there being a sick girl on the hike. Trust me, there was no chemistry by either of us on that day. It was at least a month later that he even hit my radar and even a little longer that I hit his. We started as friends though. We met in early September, became friends in October, started dating in  early December and became an exclusive couple December 22. Super fast but still nothing on day 1.

This is Chuck and our friend Marc(who helped me on the hike) on the day of the hike. No pics of me as I was behind the camera. (Don't read anything into this picture. I took pictures of all our friends at their different tables. He was still the skinny new guy as I took the picture.)

Was it love at first sight?

This is a story of the first day Chuck and I ever met.

I had been going to Shadow Mountain Community Church for a while. I was part of a singles young adult group called Vantage Point. We had a young, fun and adventurous Pastor. He was always coordinating camping trips in Yosemite, backpacking trips through the Grand Canyon and day hikes in our own local mountains.

Well, on this special day in the history of Pam and Chuck, it was labor day and we were trying out a new trail near Julian. We met up at the church to carpool. There were probably around 20 of us going. I vaguely remember a new guy hanging out on the fringes.

**hmmph...whatevs!**

We climb into all our cars and head out to the trail. From the city it took about an hour. I had a small pickup truck at that time so I borrowed my moms car so that I could be a driver.

**Yeah, I'm a control freak like that.**

When we got to the trail head everyone started getting their stuff ready for the hike. It quickly became apparent that most of them did not bring water at all or else not enough. I was on a fasting diet at that time so I had over 2 gallons with me. One was frozen, meant to be left in the car for after the hike. The other one was dispersed amongst anyone who could find an empty container in all the cars.

**did anyone catch on to the fact that I was fasting and had no right to be giving up my water? I pay the consequences later!**

The trail was about 2 miles DOWN a canyon. There was supposedly a pool of water with a water fall at the bottom. There was not a tree in sight. It was blazing hot. We headed down.

When we got to the bottom(with no problems because going downhill is never where the problem is!) we did find the water. There was no waterfall. It was too late in the season for running water. The water in the pool was stagnant. It was GREEN! As in radiator fluid green. You know the color I'm talking about? People were jumping in and swimming in this water. Some of the guys from our group were jumping in too...including the skinny new guy.

I had taken my camcorder with me...you know, cause the girl with no calories in her system needed more junk to carry. My camcorder was one of those old clunky big ones. It was about the size of half a loaf of bread...but heavier. Everyone wanted me to shoot our guys jumping off the cliff walls into the green water. I actually have on film(somewhere) me saying quietly to myself "come on guy, jump already".

**hehe...I was refering to hubs...I didn't know his name yet**

The skinny guy was sure taking his time setting up his jump. I was getting tired of pointing the camera at him. I was a little grossed out that the guys would swim in that water.

After an hour or so, a few people in the group decided to start heading back up the trail. I could tell it was going to take me a while so I decided I needed to leave with them. I didn't get far before I knew I was in deep doodoo. I peeled off from this group so I could rest.

I was horrified when another group came up behind and passed me. I was not making good progress at all. At some point, someone took pity on me and offered to carry the camcorder up the hill for me.

I kept getting sicker and sicker and yet I could see the last of our group coming up the hill. This truly scared me. I didn't know if I could make it and I was afraid of what would happen if they simply passed me as all the others did. I would be alone.

Thank goodness, our fearless leader was in the last group. He was also the only other one to bring lots of water. He did not leave me alone...thank goodness. Somehow it came out that I had a bottle of water in my car so the other 2 people walking with us ran the rest of the way up this 2 mile trail to fetch it and bring it back down to us.

In the meantime, our progress up the hill was super slow. I would go 10 feet then drop to the ground. If there was a bush where I dropped I would roll under it as it was the only shade to be found. It was quite embarrassing but I was so sick I didn't even care. Poor Marc was so understanding.

Eventually, the water made it back down to us. It was ice cold and the best tasting water I ever had. We may have been about half way up at that point. Once I had the water I started to perk up quickly. The going was still slow but much faster then I had been going.

**I was not the only severely dehydrated one. I was the only one who got sick due to my lack of calories and water intake.**

Well, we made it to the top...finally. The plan was to go to Julian for dinner. So we did. The skinny new guy was completely off my radar.

**The only thing that may have put me on his radar was that I was the sick girl.**

I went home no more the wiser that I had met my future husband!

So the answer is...no, not love at first sight!

❤❤❤

P.S. I think this story needs a moral. The moral of this story is:

1. Don't go hiking when you are on a super low calorie diet...especially in the high heat.
2. If you do go hiking, don't share your precious water with all the idiots who were stupid enough not to bring their own!

The end!

Mohawks are cool!

I sure do love these kids. I love when they come to hang out with me. I love when they spend the night. I love when I get asked to style a mohawk. I even love the cool-aid mustache!
I love their sweet smiles.
I love the way they pose when I pull out the camera.
I love being their aunt.
 I am blessed.
I love the way hubs loves being with the kids too.
...and now I'm in the dog house for this picture. Ha! I warned him when he was grumpy that he was giving me blog fodder.
(just a note, Hubs wasn't really grumpy. The sun was in his eyes and I just happened to get this random shot. He did have a really bad headache at the time though)
